Passenger tried to hit a flight attendant three times with a broken spoon

On Monday, a man was arrested for attempting to hit a flight attendant three times with a broken spoon on a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston. Francisco Severo Torres, 33, allegedly attacked an employee after trying to open the plane’s emergency door, the report said. CNN Internationall.

Now the suspect has been charged with two charges: interference and attempted interference with the actions of the crew members using a dangerous weapon. He was arrested at Boston International Airport and will stand trial Thursday.

“According to court documents, the flight attendant notified the captain. He said that the man was a threat to the aircraft and that the captain needed to land as soon as possible, ”the Ministry of Justice said.

Shortly after reporting this, the flight attendant saw the passenger try to pierce her neck with a spoon three times in a row. It is assumed that the aggressor deliberately broke the spoon in the toilet of the aircraft in order to carry out the attack.

Despite the restrictions imposed by the situation, no one was hurt.

Francisco Severo Torres is now banned from flying with this airline due to the attack. “We have zero tolerance for any form of violence on our flights and this customer will be banned from United flights until the investigation is completed. We are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation,” the airline said in a statement.
