The crew of the Estação Salva-vidas in Funchal rescued this Sunday a 24-year-old man who was stranded in the water, near the beach of Fazjan do Mar, in the district of Calheta, on the island of Madeira. .
After the Funchal Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Sub-Center (MRSC Funchal) received an alert that a person was in a difficult situation at sea due to the heavy seas that were felt in the area, the crew was immediately activated by the Funchal Rescue Station and members of the local Funchal Maritime Police Command.
Upon arrival at the scene, the crew of the Rescue Station found the victim, a 24-year-old young man, who was isolated in a rocky area.
The victim, who had several abrasions on his body, was then rescued at the Calheta wharf, where Calheta volunteer firefighters were waiting to help and take the victim to the hospital.
The Funchal Marine Police Local Command took care of the incident.
