Seven districts are under yellow warning today and Tuesday due to unrest

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), seven areas on the mainland are under a yellow warning this Monday and Tuesday due to the forecast of maritime riots.

The warning for the areas of Viana do Castelo, Porto, Lisbon, Leiria, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga starts at 21:00 Monday and lasts until 09:00 Tuesday, with waves from the west/northwest from 4 to 4.5 meters.

A yellow warning, the least severe, is issued by the IPMA whenever a risk situation arises for certain weather-dependent activities.

According to information available on the Portuguese Navy website, the sea bays at Caminha, Esposende, Vila Praia de Ancora, Povoa de Varzim and Vila do Conde are closed to navigation.

Bars Aveiro, Figueira da Foz and Viana do Castelo are air conditioned.
