One person died this Thursday at dawn in a car accident at 372 Estrada Street in the parish of Santo Amaro, municipality of Saucel, in the district of Portalegre, a civil protection source told Lusa.
The fatal victim was the only occupant of the car, according to a source in the Alto Alentejo Sub-Regional Command.
“The warning about the accident, which occurred at km 31,800 near Ribeira de Susel, was received at 5:39 am. The car skidded and crashed into a tree, ”the source said, adding that the E372 was partially cut in this place.
At 6:50 a.m., 19 operational personnel were on the scene, including volunteer firefighters from Susel, the National Republican Guard (GNR), the National Institute for Emergency Medical Services (INEM), the Ambulance and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from Portalegre and Immediate Assistance Ambulance from Life (SIV) from Estremoza supported by nine vehicles.
