“Doesn’t deserve disciplinary censorship”: Illegal PSP check from stick to popularity

The General Inspectorate of Internal Administration (IGAI) believes that the PSP agent, against whom a disciplinary case was initiated for aggression against a popular person who wanted to take over, “did not violate any of the duties to which he is obliged to obey.” In the decision of 6 January, to which cm had access, IGAI states that the agent’s behavior “does not merit disciplinary action”, suggesting that the process be archived.

The case took place on 21 April last year, following an eviction action in Olaias, Lisbon, when people resisted police orders to disperse. The gathering led to the intervention of the police.

According to the process, when the group “formed a social order line that gradually advanced to get the people out, one of the people grabbed it while trying to pull out the police baton.” The agent kicked out his leg without hitting anyone and freed himself by hitting a metal mesh, causing the crowd to disperse.

There are several videos about this moment, but there is no aggression in them.
