Setúbal’s PSP has identified a couple suspected of committing a crime involving exposing or abandoning three minor children between the ages of 2 and 6 who have meanwhile been taken from their parents, the Setúbal district command said on Monday.
According to a PSP press release, the suspect couple, a 23-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, were identified Wednesday last week, and the children were assisted by a team from the National Institute of Medicine. The Emergency Services (INEM), which referred them to the San Bernardo Hospital in Setúbal.
“Three children were in an extremely unhealthy condition, which indicated a serious lack of hygiene, bruises on the face, one of them had a fever at an advanced stage,” emphasizes the PSP, adding that shortly after that, three minors were discharged, but remained hospitalized until Fridays.
