In recent days, a 21-year-old young man has been spreading terror in Santa Maria da Feira. This Thursday, around 19:00, he seriously injured a man with a broken bottle in the Rossio Park, in the historical district of Feira. The victim refused the young man a cigarette, which was the reason for the aggression.
This Friday afternoon, an assailant stabbed the owner of the Lar Café, inflicting minor injuries to one of his arms. In this case, the victim’s wife had a panic attack and had to be hospitalized as well.
Everything points to the fact that the attacks occurred against the background of a mental disorder. The young man’s family has several times demanded the forced hospitalization of the aggressor.
The young man has a long history of conflict and violence on public roads and in commercial establishments and has been involuntarily hospitalized on at least one occasion.
The injured were taken by Feira firefighters to a local hospital.
The young man has been detained by PSP Feyre and is awaiting investigation.
