Luis Sottomayor Braga, a teacher who went on a hunger strike for five days in defense of the public school, ended the demonstration after feeling unwell this Sunday morning. Already discharged from the hospitalNow I rest and recuperate at the home of one of the members of the support team. Through a Facebook post, he said he was “deeply moved and grateful for the tremendous support received during these five intense days” and “in due course, he will make a personal message.”
He spent five days and an hour on a hunger strike in a motorhome in front of the Santa Maria Mayor school in Viana do Castelo, where he teaches, and there were many expressions of support from colleagues who came to the site to say they were with him.
This Saturday, the STOP coordinator expressed solidarity with the teacher from Viana do Castelo. After five days of hunger strike, Luis Braga’s health begins to decline. This morning he was helped into the motorhome and taken to the Viana do Castelo hospital.
