Five policemen were injured and 10 people were arrested in a fight early Monday morning in Magaluf, on the island of Palma de Mallorca, Spain. About 50 people were involved, including young Portuguese.
Two of those arrested were women, one from Spain and one from Argentina. One of them tried to attack the officer, and the other damaged the car of the local police.
In accordance with daily mail, local authorities said the police operation to restore order took about an hour and that the agents had to block off the street where the violence occurred.
The first local report indicated that the incident was provoked by a fight between a group of young North Africans and Spaniards, but the Guardia Civil analyzed surveillance cameras and identified a group of Portuguese citizens as the group that started the fight.
The incident took place around 3 am in Magaluf.
In accordance with Euroweekly, several witnesses recorded the fight on mobile phones and posted the video on social media. The footage shows how the participants went from insults and threats to beatings and kicks. Some even threw containers at rivals.
Employees of nearby establishments tried to put an end to the situation, but to no avail.
