Antonio Lacerda Sales, chairman of the commission of inquiry for TAP, told reporters this afternoon that Joao Galamba and Frederico Pinheiro will be heard in CPI due to disagreements surrounding the Ministry of Infrastructure. Auditions are scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday, April 17th and 18th.
The ex-deputy will be heard first, on Wednesday, at 14:00. The Minister of Infrastructure will go to Parliament on Thursday at 17:00.
The case, which dates back to April 26, concerned complaints against former deputy Frederico Pinheira for physical abuse at the Ministry of Infrastructure and the theft of a laptop computer after he had been fired. The controversy intensified when the intervention of the Security Information Service (SIS) became known.
Federico Pinheiro later accused Galamba of withholding information for the TAP Commission of Inquiry. Allegations which the minister denies. He resigned last week in the face of growing political pressure, but Prime Minister António Costa decided not to grant the request.
