British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak compared Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Winston Churchill, the former British Prime Minister during World War II, at a meeting on Monday in London, England. Sunak emphasized the strong leadership qualities and courage of both leaders.
“He is the first foreign leader whom I have the honor to host as prime minister. In this hall where we are, Winston Churchill made many famous speeches during the Second World War,” said Rishi Sunak, quoted by the British newspaper. Telegraph.
“In the same way, your leadership and the courage of your country are an inspiration to all of us today,” said the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, expressing interest in discussing new ways to support Ukraine.
On Monday, the British government confirmed the deployment of hundreds of surface-to-air missile systems and new long-range attack drones in Ukraine. Recall that the UK was the first country to deliver long-range Storm Shadow missiles to a country captured by Russia.
The Storm Shadow cruise missiles have a range of more than 250 kilometers – more than any other weapon supplied to Kyiv by Western countries to help resist the Russian invasion.
