Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Prince Andrew’s ex-wife underwent surgery at the King Esward VII Hospital in central London, England and was discharged this Sunday.
According to the newspaper Sun, the diagnosis was made after a planned mammogram. A friend told the newspaper that the operation was “successful” and that 63-year-old Sarah Ferguson was told “the prognosis is good” because of the “early detection” of the disease.
“It was a difficult time, but she is very grateful to the medical team,” said a friend of the Duchess.
Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew have been married for 10 years. The former couple have two daughters, Beatrice, 34, and Eugenia, 33.
