One person was injured this Monday afternoon in a truck accident in Albergaria a Velha.
At around 5:30 pm, firefighters from Albergaria a Velha received a warning about a traffic accident on the A1 highway north/south, km 240, in the area of Sant João de Lour.
The victim was taken by firefighters from Albergaria a Velha to a hospital in Aveiro. A GNR transit team and a concessionaire’s company worked on the spot.
“Traffic on the A1 highway is restricted in both directions between 240 and 300 kilometers due to an accident with a heavy vehicle. There is a victim,” the concessionaire A1 said in a statement.
According to Briza, the truck “moved from the south-north direction to the north-south direction, then stopped at the right shoulder and the slope.”
“The right lane of the A1 highway in the north-south direction, in the Albergaria district, has been cut for the removal of a heavy vehicle. Repair work is also underway at the guards of the central divider, because of which they cut the lane and left in the direction of South-North,” he said.
“Brisa Concência Rodoviária thanks in advance for the understanding and cooperation of all users of the blocked roads,” the message adds.
The truck, which skidded on Monday afternoon, was evacuated at the end of the night. It was necessary to remove the cargo, in plastic household items, from the trailer. The transfer operation took several hours.
