A young Guinean, 14 years old, went missing in the Douro River this Saturday afternoon, in the area of Praia do Areho, in Oliveira do Douro, Gaya. Two other youths were rescued by a nearby jet ski.
The alarm was received at 17:08. According to Maritime authorities, all three encountered difficulties on the water.
Members of the local command of the Douro Maritime Police, the crew of the Douro rescue station, members of the SeaWatch project and the firefighters of Vila Nova de Gaia were called to the scene.
The search was interrupted late Saturday evening without the victim found and will resume tomorrow morning.
