Two young Islamists were temporarily detained on suspicion of “planning and preparing a terrorist attack” at a Christmas market or synagogue in Cologne, Germany.
According to the ARD television company, one of the young people, 15 years old, in a video published on Telegram, called for a “holy war” against the West and announced a terrorist attack in Germany on December 1.
According to WDR, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution was able to identify the Telegram account. Apparently, the suspect has Afghan citizenship.
The young man arranged a meeting with a 16-year-old Russian from Wittstock, Brandenburg, to exchange information about an incendiary attack.
The suspects will appear in court this Wednesday.
