The Fertagus service, which provides rail services between Setúbal and Lisbon, will face disruption on Tuesday and Thursday due to a strike planned by Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) workers, the airline said.
In a note on its website, Fertagus, which operates the rail line crossing the bridge on April 25 after paying an IP user fee, said forecasts for train disruptions were valid from 00:00 to 24:00. each day of the strike (January 2 and 4).
“Minimum services were determined by the Economic and Social Council of the EU on January 2 in the amount of 25% and on January 4 in the amount of 30%,” he added.
The company has posted terms and conditions on its website that go both ways.
Currently, the carrier serves 14 stations with a length of about 54 kilometers, and its service accounts for about 85 thousand daily flights.
For two days, workers, command, control, information, traffic control and railway repairmen will go on strike at the IP.
In a conversation with Lusa, the president of Aprofer – Association of Railway Management Professionals, Adriano Filipe, explained that the strike, which will continue on January 10 if negotiations do not begin, is related to the working conditions and wages of specialists, described as demanding and difficult.
“The reasons for this strike are the same” as the strike scheduled for September 2022, he recalled, pointing out that IP at that time committed to negotiating an agreement, but this did not happen, despite the fact that he sent a document to the group.
In a conversation with Lusa, IP warned that following the advance strike notice provided by Aprofer, “there may be disruptions in rail services.”
The strike involves minimum services, but under the terms set by the Arbitration Court, IP “guarantees the opening of 25% of its rail channel for urban traffic – Lisbon and Porto and 30% for long-distance and regional traffic on 2 January.” “
