PCP says health care agreement between PS and PSD needs to be terminated

The Secretary General of the PKP considered this Wednesday that the regime agreement between the PS and the PSD in the field of health has already entered into force, the purpose of which is to “dismantle the SNA”, and said that it is necessary to “put an end to it once and for all”.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the Order of Doctors in Lisbon, Paulo Raimundo was asked about the challenge posed this Sunday by former President Miguel Guimarães at an event of the Democratic Alliance (AD) in honor of the “regime agreement” on health between the various parties.

In response, Paulo Raimundo stated that the problem the country faces “is that the regime pact that the PSD proposes or is proposing is in force.”

“And the pact, what is it? Dismantling social networks. Some with more intricate measures, others more precise, but unfortunately for the lives of doctors, nurses, technicians and, in particular, for the lives of users, this pact is in effect. ,” He said.

According to the Secretary General of the PKP, there is no need to “create a pact”, it is necessary to “terminate the current pact once and for all.”

Paulo Raimundo, who had already been asked about the proposal of the new PS Secretary General Pedro Nuno Santos for an oral hygiene program at SNS, stressed that it was “very important” and that it was a measure that the PCP would support, but considered that it was not the main issue at the moment moment.

“This is a problem that needs to be solved and there is no reason why it has not been solved yet, but the problem that we have in this environment is that one million 700 thousand people do not have a family doctor and that is a big problem. ,” He said.

Paulo Raimundo said that Pedro Nuno Santos is part of the party “that was in the government and accelerated this path of dismantling the SNS,” stressing that “this is a problem that must be solved.”

“We shouldn’t push our stomachs without solving the problems that are on the table today. We needed to have an answer to the question: how are we going to solve the problem of the shortage of doctors today,” he said.

Regarding the meeting with the Order of Doctors, in which the PCP was represented by Paulo Raimundo and Central Committee members Jorge Pires and Bernardino Soares, the communist leader stressed that there is a “great convergence” in the idea that “this is necessary to save social networks.”

Paulo Raimundo also defended the need to value and respect SNS professionals and create working conditions, also emphasizing that it is necessary to “increase salaries”, but noting that “financial issues, which are important, are not decisive for the vast majority of professionals and , in this case, doctors.”
