Taylor Swift made history at the Grammy Awards on a night dominated by women

This Monday, Taylor Swift became the first artist to win the Grammy Award for Best Album for the fourth time, honoring “Midnights” at the 66th Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences Awards.

“My head is exploding,” Taylor Swift said in her acceptance speech for the night’s biggest award in Los Angeles. “My prize is work. I love her very much,” he continued. “All I want to do is keep doing it.”

Until now, only three artists, all men, have won the Album of the Year Grammy three times: Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder. Grammy Award host, comedian Trevor Noah, has repeatedly noted the historical nature of Taylor Swift’s victory.

Selected Women Artists

The 66th Grammy Awards was a night of recognition for female artists, with Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Miley Cyrus winning the industry’s most coveted statuettes.
Taylor Swift won Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights,” while Miley Cyrus won Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Flowers.”

Billie Eilish won the important Song of the Year award with her song “What Was I Made For?”, written for the Barbie movie soundtrack. The theme also won a Grammy Award for Best Song for Visual Media, and “Barbie” was awarded for Best Compilation for Visual Media.
