According to the portal G1The Brazilian footballer admitted he drank too much on the night of the alleged rape, but did not force his wife to accompany him to the bathroom or have sexual relations.
Dani Alves admitted that he initially lied when he said he had no contact with the complainant because he did not want his wife to find out about the extramarital act.
The trial of Dani Alves began this Monday and has already included the testimony of 28 witnesses. The young woman who accused Dani Alves testified for about an hour, and her voice was distorted for the defense.
Accused sex offender Dani Alves was detained on January 20 last year because he was a “high flight risk” to Brazil. Spanish prosecutors are asking for nine years in prison for the former football player.
