Bill Gates poured billions of dollars into OpenAI and began using artificial intelligence to perform what he calls “routine tasks,” and Microsoft’s market value soared.
The Tesla founder and current owner of X (formerly Twitter) wants the court to clarify whether advanced AI models should be understood as artificial general intelligence and whether they can be licensed for profit.
He also wants to find out in court whether he can be reimbursed for donations he made for public inquiry purposes to a project that is now being used for purposes other than those envisaged in the contract.
Elon Musk is one of the signatories of a letter published last year asking for a pause in artificial intelligence development to better understand the impact of advances. He has repeatedly stated that he believes artificial intelligence is “one of the greatest threats to human life.”
