Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on Wednesday that it will invest 15.7 billion euros in data centers in the Aragon region of Spain. The investments will create about 17 thousand jobs.
This is stated in a company statement quoted by the publication. Reutersthat the investment will create an average of 17,500 jobs by 2033 and that renewable energy will only be used in Spanish data centers.
“The Amazon Web Services solution will put Spain at the forefront of technological innovation and artificial intelligence in Europe,” said José Luis Escriva, Spain’s Minister of Digital Transformation and Public Services, quoted Reuters.
In 2021, Amazon announced an investment of 2.5 billion euros intended for Spain, which was replaced by this “new plan”.
