The Cascais City Council clarified this Thursday that due to problems with water quality, the beaches of Parede and Duquesa were affected on Wednesday, and the ban on visiting the latter has already been lifted.
Contrary to what the National Maritime Authority (ANM) reported on Wednesday, Conceição beach was “not affected” and was not closed to swimming, according to the municipality of Cascais in Lisbon district.
The beaches that were closed on Wednesday after water quality tests found microbiological values above reference parameters were Parede Beach and Duquesa Beach, according to the Cascais City Council.
However, the note also mentions that at Duquesa Beach, “the ban has already been lifted as tests are already reporting values within the control parameters.”
