Lisbon Metro (ML) has, after a first assessment, acknowledged the existence of a “low speed derailment” of a train carriage near the entrance to Alvalade station this morning, which did not cause any personal injury.
In a statement, the company said that this Friday at 7:31 am, an incident occurred at the Alvalade station of the green line (which connects Teleiras and Cais do Sodre) “due to a disruption in the normal functioning of the needle.”
“Following a first assessment carried out on site by the picket teams of the Metropolitano de Lisboa, a low-speed derailment of a train carriage was detected at the entrance to Alvalade station,” the company said in the latest information sent to the press.
