A “large turnout” at the emergency department of the Beatriz Angelo hospital in Loures is causing waiting times to be “exceeding what is desired”, according to a source in the medical department, reaching 13 hours of waiting time.
“Due to the large influx of patients into the Ambulance Service, as well as the large number of critical, emergency and emergency situations requiring hospital admission, which is currently overcrowded, waiting times are longer than usual. Desired waiting time,” reads the sent response. Lusa was told by a source at Loures Hospital.
The hospital is therefore reinforcing its call for users to contact SNS24 at 808 24 24 24 before going to the ward.
At 2:00 p.m., the Loures unit in the Lisbon area had a 10:00 wait for emergency patients in the emergency department, according to a website about average hospital waiting times.
