A 50-year-old man died this Saturday when the motorcycle he was riding crashed in the city of Serpa, Beja district, sources in the Civil Defense and the People’s Republic of China told Lusa.
A source from the Subregional Command for Emergency Situations and Civil Protection of Baixo Alentejo said the accident occurred at the exit of the Alentejo city towards the Estrada Nacional 260 highway, with the alert issued at 18:54.
According to a source in the Polish People’s Republic, the victim was the driver and only passenger of the motorcycle.
The man’s death was confirmed on the spot by a doctor from the Beja emergency medical care and resuscitation unit (EMER), and the body was taken to the medical and legal service of the Beja hospital, a source in the sub-regional command reported.
Twelve firefighters from Serpa, the National Institute of Emergency Medicine and the GNR were mobilized to the scene, supported by five vehicles, including a VMER.
