Leo Santana, Carolina Deslandes and Nininho Vas Maya cast as O Sol da Caparica

Leo Santana, Carolina Delandez, Nininho Vas Maya, Matias Damasio and Paulo Gonzo are among the first artists to be confirmed for the O Sol da Caparica festival, which will take place August 17 and 20 in Costa da Caparica, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The first names for the 8th edition of this Portuguese-language festival were announced on Tuesday at a press conference, among which T-Rex, Badoxa, João Pedro Pais, Valete and others were also confirmed.

The poster for the festival promoted by the Chiado group and the City Council of Almada, which will take place in the Municipal Park of Costa da Caparica, has not yet closed, so the organization anticipates new announcements in the coming days.

According to the organization, the first day will begin with the performance of Leo Santana, the Brazilian singer known as “Gigante” and author of the hit “Zona de Perigo”, on the stage of Dom Tápparo.

Portuguese singer Carolina Deslandes will perform on the same day and on the same stage, bringing her greatest hits and her latest album “Caos” to the festival.

On the second day, the same stage gets T-Rex. Performances by Badoxa on the 19th were also featured, as well as Matias Damasio, a famous name from O Sol da Caparica, who will return on the last day of the event after being there in 2019.

On August 20, the Portuguese Valete and the Brazilian singer MC Pedrinho, known for his hit “Dom Dom Dom”, will take the main stage and end the evening.

Still within confirmations, Kappa Yotta, Yura and Yola Semedo have been featured on the Kavi Music stage, which will also feature performances by Desconectados, Domingues, Beatriz Rosário and Fernando Cunha (Delfins) who invite Olavo Bilac, Rui Pregal da Cunha, Paulo Costa. and Pedro Joya.

The O Sol da Caparica festival also features Duque Veneza, which explores the sounds of indie and pop rock, Da Chick and Chelsea Dinorat, winner of the Female Voice of the Year award at the Top Rádio Luanda 2022.

As for the Matrizauto scene, comedy and dance, Jel and Jazzy Dance Studios’ curation was revealed in this first wave of confirmations.

Two artists will perform on stage each day, accompanied by dancers with choreography designed for each concert, with Thay and the Damásio Brothers duo already confirmed on the 20th.

The Porbatuka group, a project of musical and social integration, is confirmed on the LS&Republicano stage.

On August 15th, two days before the festival starts, he’s set to break the record by promoting the world’s biggest inclusive rock band.

The event will feature over 1,200 musicians, including 450 guitarists, 250 drummers, 400 vocalists and 200 bassists, who will perform the festival’s anthem, opening a solidarity auction that will run until the end of the festival.

The auction will feature a guitar signed by all the artists of the 8th Festival, with the proceeds from the auction going entirely towards purchasing musical instruments for children and communities that do not have the financial capacity to do so. purchase them.

Tickets for O Sol da Caparica go on sale on Tuesday, with ticket prices per day ranging from €20 for over 65s to €26.

For residents of the municipality of Almada, the daily cost will be 22 euros.

The festival also has different tickets: for four days, an adult ticket costs 75 euros, a family ticket for two adults and two young people under 16 years old is 145 euros, for those registered in the municipality of Almada – 63 euros. euros for four days and for persons over 65 years old 60 euros.

For the mayor of Almada, Ines de Medeiros, O Sol da Caparica is significant as a “big festival of the Portuguese language in its various varieties” and is generating growing interest.

“Almada’s motto is to be the territory of many, and O Sol da Caparica is its image. This is a generous and supportive festival and a true celebration of what we want for a fraternal, tolerant and diverse society that is the characteristics of Almada,” he said in an interview with Lusa.
