A GNR soldier died this Sunday when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car in Anciao, Leiria. As a result of the accident, two more died: a soldier’s comrade, who was riding a motorcycle, and a car driver.
A GNR source said the soldier was 38 years old, and the passenger’s age is not yet known to the authorities.
The driver of the car was 59 years old. Two young women aged 19 and 21 who were in the car suffered minor injuries, according to GNR.
Anciao and Penela firefighters, the National Institute of Emergency Medical Services and the GNR were on site, with a total of 26 operational assets supported by nine vehicles.
The alarm was announced at 19:30. In a collision with a car, the motorcycle caught fire, and the flames spread to another vehicle.
