The crew of the diesel-electric submarine “Ufa” carried out diving actions and underwater maneuvers with access to a training torpedo attack at the combat training grounds of the Baltic Fleet, the press service of the Western Military District reports on 17 January. During the dive, the submariners checked the operation of all ship systems and mechanisms, performed an algorithm of actions when controlling the submarine at depth and with various methods of surfacing. In addition, the sailors solved the problems of underwater maneuvering with access to a torpedo attack with electronic firing of torpedoes.
The surface ships of the imaginary enemy, in the role of which the warships of the Baltic Fleet acted, became the target. As part of the onboard exercises, the assigned tasks were carried out at various depths, with a maximum diving depth of up to 50 meters.
Upon completion of the underwater part of the exercises, the crew of the Ufa submarine surfaced to continue the implementation of activities in accordance with the combat training plan for the fleet forces. Crews of warships and rescue ships from the Baltic Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet took part in the Ufa submarine exercise.
