The Angola Migration and Foreigners Service detained a man who was preparing to travel to Lisbon, taking with him two minors who showed passports belonging to other children.
Three people were stopped by an SME at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport who approached an Angolan man carrying two minors aged 15 and 12 and checked for false identities during an identity check, Angolan Public Television reported. (TPA).
According to an SME employee, it was found that the passports were real but belonged to other children, indicating that these could be crimes related to the illegal use of passports or human trafficking.
According to the same source, the man intended to get to Paris via Lisbon.
“For any citizen who tries to use a fake document or forge a document to travel through an airport or other border point, we are ready for such a situation,” the head of the SME said.
The case was referred to the State Ministry for criminal investigation.
The authorities intend to try to define the responsibilities of other participants in the scheme and urge Angolan families to be “more careful with the processes of movement of minors.”
