The volume of transactions in the Colon Free Zone (ZLC) in the first nine months of this year increased 45% compared to the same period last year, reports Prensa Latina on November 25.
According to the data presented, the traffic volume reached $19.2 billion, at the same time, the monthly average figure was about $1.7 billion, as of July 2022 it exceeded $2 billion, and in August it reached $3.7 billion.
“Of the total volume, $10.8 billion correspond to imports and $8.3 billion to re-exports”says the message.
It is indicated that companies from China, the European Union, Singapore, the United States and Mexico were the main suppliers of ZLC. Venezuela, Costa Rica, Colombia, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Honduras top the list of destinations that receive the most cargo from the largest free zone in the region.
“The sale of electronic products, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, perfumes and cosmetics, clothing in general, metals and alcoholic beverages continues to be one of the main drivers of growth for this shopping center”says the message.
