German authorities have released a statement in the Maddy McCann case, in which new developments took place on Tuesday when searches were launched at the Arade dam in Silves.
In a statement cited BBCThe state ministry of the German state of Braunschweig reports that “in the context of the investigation into the Madeleine McCann case, measures are currently being taken related to the ongoing criminal proceedings in Portugal.”
“The measures are being implemented by the Portuguese police authorities with the support of agents of the Federal Criminal Police Office. [alemão]”, it says next.
New searches in British girl’s case are underway as it is believed the main suspect in the girl’s death, Christian Bruckner, will pass through the Barragem do Arade area several times.
The site was already the subject of searches in 2008. Then a baby sock was found.
