Two women aged 49 and 20 were arrested by the PSP at CP Amadora for biting and hitting two uniformed agents and for resisting arrest.
The disorder occurred at 17:50 on Friday, May 19.
The PSP was called because, shortly before, the elderly detainee had entered into a conversation with an employee of a commercial enterprise located in Parque Delfim Guimarães, near the Amadora station. The woman was with a child and did not like it when a minor was scolded for damaging municipal equipment.
When the PSP identified her, the 49-year-old woman fled to the CP Amadora station. Two agents pursued her until they captured her, and soon a crowd of almost 100 people gathered at the scene, who rebelled against the actions of the police, with several people filming what was happening on mobile phones. The uniformed agents had to call for reinforcements, and while they held the woman, one of them was bitten on the knee.
The second suspect, who has nothing to do with the other, stepped in to try to free her. She was also arrested for resisting and coercion.
The two women were taken to the Mina police station and identified. Both have been notified to appear in court this Monday for summary judgment in the case of the crime of aggression, resistance and coercion to power.
Two injured police officers were treated at the Amador station without requiring hospitalization.
