On Tuesday, the National Republican Guard (GNR) arrested 15 people following a mega operation on Tuesday involving thefts of residential and commercial premises in the Grand Port.
The action, which began at 7 am, mobilized over 400 soldiers and was initiated by the PPR in Viseu. According to Lieutenant Colonel Adriano Rezende, 15 searches of houses have already been carried out, which have passed “without incident.” Despite the fact that the mega operation is predominant in the center and north of the country, there are reports of thefts in Faro, Beja, Setúbal, Santarém and Leiria.
The suspects are related by family ties, and about 30 people are involved in them. There are 57 home burglaries and 94 commercial burglaries at stake.
