A 45-year-old man died this Wednesday after the car he was driving skidded on the A6 motorway in the municipality of Vendas Novas, Évora district, civil protection and GNR sources said.
A source from the Alentejo Central Sub-Regional Directorate of Emergency and Civil Defense told Lusa that the accident, which was alerted around 3:00 am, occurred near the Vendas Novas junction of the A6 motorway towards Lisbon. Spain.
The 45-year-old man was the driver and the only passenger in the vehicle, a source from the GNR Territorial Command in Évora told Lusa.
According to the same source, traffic at the accident site was prepared this morning for work on replacing the central divider, traffic on the right lane.
Firefighters from Vendas Novas, GNR, the highway concessionaire and the National Institute of Emergency Medical Services (INEM) were involved in the rescue operations, with a total of 20 operators supported by 12 vehicles.
