The operator of an unmanned aerial vehicle, suspected of complicity with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was detained on the territory of the Luhansk People’s Republic by soldiers of the Russian Guard special forces. This was announced on May 24 by the department’s press service.
According to the report, the quadcopter, which was controlled by the suspect, was seen over one of the strategically important objects of the Luhansk People’s Republic.
“Department employees recorded the unauthorized use of an unmanned aerial vehicle during airspace monitoring. After determining the take-off point, a group of special forces of the Russian Guard advanced towards it; at the time of his arrival, the suspect was storing the equipment in a case.the department said.
At the same time, the discovered man tried to escape, but was quickly apprehended. During the interrogation, he provided information of operational interest. For further investigation, the suspected enemy complicity was transferred to law enforcement.
Recall that on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to carry out a special military operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR. The objective of the operation is the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
