The holiday dedicated to the Day of Slavic Literature was celebrated in Rostov-on-Don on Cathedral Square, the press service of the administration of the Rostov region reports on May 25.
The holiday brought together thousands of Rostov-on-Don residents and guests from the Don capital. Before them performed the best musical and dance groups in the region.
“The celebration is a tribute to the memory of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, equal to the apostles, creators of the Slavic alphabet, first translators of liturgical books from Greek to Slavonic”— indicated in the message.
At the time of the celebration in the city center, traffic was partially blocked along Moskovskaya Street.
Recall that the Day of Slavic Literature and Culture has been celebrated in Russia since 2005. This holiday is also celebrated in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Transnistria.
