A man in his 30s was arrested for opening the emergency door of a plane preparing to land at Daegu International Airport in South Korea. There were 194 people on the plane.
It was about three minutes before boarding when a passenger sitting next to the emergency door opened the lid and pulled the lever so that the door opened about 200 meters above the ground, Reuters reported.
A video has surfaced on social media showing a hole in the side of the plane. Some passengers required medical attention due to shock, but there were no reports of more serious injuries, the source said. bbc news, quoted by the South Korean media.
Nine passengers, eight of them children, were later taken to a nearby hospital due to breathing problems.
Children in this plane flew to a sporting event. “They were shaking, crying, scared,” said one parent.
The man was detained after landing. The authorities are trying to find out what was the motive for the crime.
