The director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will submit proposals to the UN next Tuesday to protect the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in Russian-occupied Zaporozhye.
“(Rafael) Grossi intends to brief the UN Security Council on the nuclear security situation in Zaporozhye,” at a May 30 meeting chaired by Switzerland, according to an IAEA communiqué sent to Agence France-Presse.
According to the news, Grossi intends to reach an agreement before a possible Kyiv counteroffensive.
The nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye, Ukraine, the largest on the European continent, was occupied by Russian forces after an invasion that began last February.
