The absence of setbacks on the issue of raising the national debt ceiling was affirmed by US President Joe Biden on May 28 in an interview with journalists.
Responding to the journalists’ question, if there were issues in the negotiations on which there is no agreement, Biden replied: “No”. At the same time, the president confirmed that he would speak with the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, at 3:00 p.m. (10:00 p.m. Moscow time).
“I’m going to call McCarthy at three o’clock to make sure all the i’s are dotted” Biden said.
As McCarthy said earlier, the bill, which is about 150 pages long, will be released shortly after the scheduled conversation. The lower house of Congress will approve the bill on Wednesday, May 31. The document will then be considered by the Senate of Congress, after which it will be sent to the president for signature.
