A 61-year-old woman was arrested this Friday for poisoning her 64-year-old husband with rat poison and dismembering him, civilian police said in a statement. The crime was solved 48 hours later.
The torso of a man was found in a suitcase on Thursday, according to Brazilian civilian police. No arms, no legs, no head was found.
The General Investigation Department of Selviria received information that the man had been missing since Saturday, and in conversations with neighbors, the police were able to find out that the man often quarreled with his partner.
Under interrogation by the police, the woman initially denied her involvement, but later showed great nervousness and eventually confessed to the authorities of the crime. The woman also admitted where the remaining parts of the body are.
The police went to the place indicated by the woman and found the head, arms and legs in garbage bags.
