At least one person died and several were injured early Tuesday in a “massive attack” by Russian drones on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, local authorities said.
According to preliminary data, more than 20 Iranian-made Shahed drones were intercepted and destroyed by air defense forces.
The wreckage of drones fell on a multi-storey building in the Goloseevsky district in the south of the Ukrainian capital. “One person died, an elderly woman was hospitalized, two injured were treated on the spot,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on the Telegram platform.
Also in Moscow, a drone attack caused “minor damage” to several buildings in the early hours of the morning, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.
“Early this morning, several buildings received minor damage as a result of a drone strike. All emergency services of the city are working on the spot, ”Sobyanin wrote on the Telegram platform.
The official indicated that there were no serious injuries and that an investigation into the incident was ongoing.
