Benfica’s legal team has submitted a request to the Superior Council of the Public Ministry (CSMP) to investigate the temporary suspension of five proceedings linked to Football Leaks creator Rui Pinto. According to the Jornal de Notícias, the lawyers suspect that the prosecutor of the Central Directorate of Investigation and Criminal Affairs (DCIAP) has abused the interference in the investigation and believe that he participated in a scheme with the defense of Rui Pinto to avoid this. the hacker was tried in five investigations.
The pending requests are for computer access to the computer systems of the Government Computer Network Operations Center, FC Porto, the Institute of Financial Management and Judicial Equipment (IGFEJ) and emails from the Attorney General of the Republic, now retired, Joana. Marques Vidal and Benfica.
The suspension required Rui Pinto to follow certain rules. The computer hacker had to be available to the Ministry of Public Administration and the Judicial Police to cooperate in national or international investigations, provide decryption codes for seized computer materials, in addition to not being able to commit any other crimes.
