Forward Dmitry Yashkin left the SKA St. Petersburg team, the hockey club’s general director and head coach Roman Rotenberg said on May 31 on his Telegram channel.
“Hockey is life, and in life sometimes you have to separate yourself even from friends. Next season SKA will play without Dmitry Yashkin”Rothenberg wrote.
According to him, Yashkin was an excellent captain of the team, and his name entered the history of the club.
He also signaled that SKA was ready to leave Yashkin in the team and made an offer to extend the contract on good terms. However, the parties decided to end the cooperation.
Recall that the 30-year-old Yashkin last season became the top scorer and shooter in the KHL regular season, earning 62 points (40 goals and 22 assists) in 67 games. He was recognized as the best player in the KHL championship.
