The law “On the guardianship of minors in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug” was adopted by the Okrug Duma on June 7, the press service of the district prosecutor’s office reported.
“The bill developed by the district attorney’s office is designed to ensure the protection of the family and children, to promote the implementation of an effective social policy in the field of prevention of abandonment and juvenile delinquency in the Okrug Chukotka Autonomous Region,” the report says.
It should be noted that at a meeting of the district Duma, the bill was introduced by the district attorney Dmitry Burko and unanimously approved by the deputies.
Previously, in order to improve activities to prevent abandonment and juvenile delinquency, the prosecutor’s office proposed at the regional legislative level to define the concept of “guardianship”, provide for the requirements for guardians and the organization of their activities aimed at protecting the rights of children, preventing their antisocial and illegal behaviors.
