In Kaliningrad, it was proposed to use aviation to combat drought.

In Kaliningrad, it was proposed to use aviation to combat drought.

The problems of agricultural producers associated with the drought will be discussed at a meeting of the Kaliningrad Region Commission for Emergency Situations, reports the online publication Klops on June 7.

The regional government held an operational meeting in relation to the expected drought. The Ministry of Agriculture plans to hold a meeting of the Emergency Situations Commission on June 9, in which the main topic of debate will be the problem of agricultural producers.

The governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, recalled that agricultural producers in the region received many subsidies and that a drought could cause a decrease in yields. The governor recalled that with the help of aviation it is possible to cause precipitation.

“We solved the problem with special aviation, which stimulates or in some way forms precipitation. So I ask that you inform me separately what happened with this. These planes are located in our south, but they can slowly be transferred to us. If required”Alikhanov said.

The governor also asked the heads of the municipalities to stop mowing the grass and watering the trees, whether it is early in the morning or late at night.

Recall that in April-May in the Kaliningrad region, the lowest amount of precipitation for the spring months in the last 50-60 years was recorded. May was the driest month in the history of observations in the region, three millimeters of precipitation fell in the region during the month, with a climatic norm of 52 mm. The General Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region warned about soil drought, which is expected from June 8.

We also remind you that the Yak-42D laboratory aircraft of the Central Aerological Observatory can be used both to study weather-forming factors in the atmosphere, and to exert active influences on hydrometeorological processes. The rains are created by bombarding the clouds with special PV-26M detonators containing silver iodide, whose particles are centers of crystallization of moisture and cause “artificial precipitation.”
