The older sister of three children missing for 40 days in the Colombian jungle after a plane crash is largely responsible for the survival of four children. The girl took advantage of the knowledge she received because she was used to taking care of her brothers and sisters.
Leslie, 13, looked after her siblings when her mother was at work. The girl’s grandmother, Fatima Valencia, told how the young Colombian fed the children.
“She gave them flour, bread and any fruit they could find in the jungle. They know they can eat,” said the woman, quoted BBC.
This Friday, four brothers were rescued alive after they went missing in the Amazon jungle in the south of the country after the plane they were flying on May 1 crashed.
Three adults, including the pilot and mother of the children, Magdalena Mukutuy, died in the crash, according to Reuters, and their bodies were found inside the plane.
