Shungle Mashwani, a 10-year-old girl, managed to survive alone for 24 hours in the Cascade Mountains in Washington, United States of America.
The girl was separated from her family, a group of 20 people, while walking in the valley of the river Cle Elum. According to the Kittitas County Sheriff’s Office, the child and family were crossing a footbridge near the start of the trail.
In accordance with Mirror, the family was desperately looking for a child, but due to the lack of cellular communication, it was impossible to seek help.
After a two-hour search, one person suggested calling the police via satellite phone from a nearby hut.
The girl was found the next day with minor injuries about 1.5 kilometers south of where she was last seen.
“I tried to fall asleep at night and wake up early in the morning, and then find my father and mother in the forest,” the girl said. KING.
