The North Korean leader offered Moscow “full support” for Pyongyang in a message addressed to the Russian president, North Korean state media reported on Monday.
Kim Jong-un sent congratulations to Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the holidays in Russia, one of Pyongyang’s few allies.
The statement, released by the official North Korean news agency KCNA, does not specifically mention the invasion of Ukraine or Moscow’s involvement in the armed conflict, but praises “Putin’s good decision and leadership of … hostile forces.”
“Justice will definitely win, and the Russian people will continue to celebrate the history of victories,” said Kim Jong-un, quoted by Reuters.
