Infrastructure Minister João Galamba said again this Wednesday that he had not lied to the TAP commission of inquiry and said that the SDP’s accusations were “an act of desperation on the part of the opposition”.
“I treat what they say with complete indifference. It is natural for the SDP to focus on small incidents. Criticism doesn’t bother me. My work is too important to comment on secondary issues,” Galamba stressed.
Hugo Mendez and Pedro Nuno Santos, the former Secretary of State and former Minister of Infrastructure, respectively, will hear before the commission of inquiry this Wednesday and Thursday. When asked if he was afraid of what might be said at these hearings, Galamba immediately answered “no”.
“I hope that the hearings go well and that Parliament can do its job. Most of the commission objects date back to when I had no responsibilities in this portfolio. [das Infraestruturas] I said everything that needed to be said,” he said.
Recall that the Secretary General of the PSD, Hugo Soares, demanded the resignation of Joao Galamba after hearing the Deputy Secretary of State of the Prime Minister, António Mendons Mendes, who reported a different version of the Minister of Infrastructure’s version in a Parliamentary Committee (CPI) request to TAP.
