Footballer Bernardo Silva, who plays for Manchester City, this Thursday suggested that he could leave the English club and the reigning European champions next season, and admitted that at the moment he does not know his future.
“Honestly, I still don’t know my future. I don’t know. We’ll see in the near future. If I knew, there would be no place to talk about it here either. I know,” Bernardo Silva said at a press conference a few minutes before the new training session of the Portuguese national team, which is preparing for Saturday’s match with Bosnia, the Euro 2024 qualifier.
The 28-year-old has spent the last six seasons at Manchester City, winning the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League this season, and is under contract with the City until July 2025.
Asked about a possible return to Benfica, the club where he trained and is believed to be a supporter, Bernardo dismissed any possibility of it.
“Again, I don’t think this is the place to talk about it. But just to deviate from the topic, it’s unrealistic. People know how I feel about Benfica, but right now it’s not realistic and it won’t happen.“, – said the Portuguese.
Bernardo Silva has made 55 appearances for Manchester City this season and scored seven goals.
